The 23rd Mawei-Matsu Lantern Festival, a national-level cultural heritage event, combining both sides of the Taiwan Straits, in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, East China. The lanterns are inspired by contemporary Chinese art, blending with local folk culture.
Continuing for 53 days, the event showcases over 130 large and medium-sized lantern displays. It highlights Fujian's maritime and shipyard traditions, local folk culture, and the cultural exchanges between Fujian Province and Taiwan.
The show aims to offer immersive nighttime experience, combining lantern displays, folk culture activities, and New Year blessings.
