The Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranked him as the 24th richest individual globally, while both the Forbes Billionaires List and the Hurun Rich List confirmed his status as the richest person in China.
Bloomberg estimates his net worth at $57.5 billion, while Forbes places it at $65.5 billion.
At 42, Zhang founded Bytedance in 2012, and as of January 2025, the company is valued at over $400 billion.
In addition to TikTok, Bytedance owns other popular apps, including CapCut, Xigua Video, and Douyin.
