Tesla, the US-based electric vehicle giant, experienced a 45.2% decline in sales across Europe in January compared to the previous year, according to data released on Tuesday by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
The report revealed that Tesla sold 9,945 vehicles in January 2025, a significant drop from the 18,161 units sold in the same month of 2024 across Europe, including the EU, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and the UK.
Within the EU alone, Tesla's sales plummeted by 50.3% to 7,517 units in January 2025 compared to the same period last year.
In contrast, battery electric vehicle sales saw a sharp increase, rising by 34% to 124,341 units in the EU and by 37.3% across the EU, EFTA, and the UK combined.
