Special envoys from Pakistan, China and Russia held an informal meeting in the Qatari capital on Monday to discuss regional cooperation on Afghanistan, Pakistani envoy Mohammad Sadiq confirmed in a post on X.
Sadiq, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan, described the meeting as “an important informal discussion” with his Chinese and Russian counterparts, as well as diplomats from both countries.
According to Sadiq, the talks centred on enhancing coordination among regional powers and reaffirming a shared commitment to cooperation on Afghan-related issues.
The meeting took place alongside the ongoing Doha Process working group sessions, hosted by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). These include the third round of talks on counter-narcotics and the second session on private sector development.
