Türkiye continues battling large-scale forest fires across multiple provinces, with hundreds evacuated and extensive firefighting efforts underway since June 27.

Türkiye is fighting to control wildfires that erupted on June 27 in the forested areas of Taraklı district in Sakarya province, spreading toward Bilecik. Authorities are working to contain the flames, which have forced the evacuation of 17 residential areas and displaced more than 300 people for safety.

Efforts to extinguish the fires involve over 200 firefighting vehicles, hundreds of personnel, 11 helicopters, 4 planes, and one drone (UAV). The blaze has caused extensive damage to homes and killed livestock in affected areas.

Wildfires have also been reported in Balıkesir and Manisa provinces. In Balıkesir, a fire that began in farmland spread rapidly to nearby forests due to strong winds, prompting a response with aircraft and firefighting equipment. Similarly, in Manisa, strong winds have intensified another forest fire. Aerial support with 2 planes and 4 helicopters, along with ground crews, are working to contain the flames.

According to reports, wildfires were recorded in five different regions of Türkiye on June 27, with some now under control.
