The UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has raised the alarm as intensifying conflict in Syria threatens to displace 1.5 million people.
The agency warns the crisis is worsening rapidly, with 280,000 people already forced to flee their homes since November 27.
Years of conflict have left 12.9 million Syrians food insecure, with over 3 million severely affected. WFP’s Samer Abdeljaber described the situation as "a crisis layered upon an existing one," urging immediate funding to address the growing humanitarian emergency.
The escalating displacement highlights Syria’s ongoing struggle, where millions are left without access to food, shelter, and basic necessities.
