The United States and South Korea have reaffirmed their commitment to reaching a tariff agreement as soon as possible, according to South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
During a meeting, South Korea’s Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo again requested exemptions from U.S. tariffs introduced under President Donald Trump’s "reciprocal" trade measures, including those on cars and steel. He discussed this with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
Meanwhile, Acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Joseph Yun said there could be renewed talks regarding the U.S.–South Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA), according to a report by Money Today.
