"MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN" — President Donald J. Trump called for peace between Israel and Iran, saying diplomacy is underway and a deal is within reach.
President Donald J. Trump has called for a peace agreement between Israel and Iran, asserting that such a deal is both possible and already in motion. In a post shared on his official Truth Social account, the President expressed confidence that diplomacy can prevail, just as it did in past international disputes under his leadership.
Drawing parallels to earlier moments of geopolitical tension, Trump pointed to his role in easing hostilities between India and Pakistan during his previous term, saying it was U.S. trade diplomacy that brought "reason, cohesion, and sanity" to the talks. He described both Indian and Pakistani leaders as "excellent" and credited their swift decision-making for helping avoid escalation.
Trump also referenced the long-standing conflict between Serbia and Kosovo, claiming that during his administration, the situation was "ready to break out into war" but was successfully stabilised through his intervention. While he criticised his predecessor for what he called "very stupid decisions" that damaged long-term prospects, Trump promised to "fix it again."
In addition, the President highlighted his involvement in mediating between Egypt and Ethiopia over the dispute concerning the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, a project that has raised concerns over water access to the Nile River. According to Trump, peace in that region has held "because of my intervention," and he expects that stability to continue.
Turning to the present crisis in the Middle East, Trump declared that peace between Israel and Iran is achievable and claimed that "many calls and meetings" are already taking place to make it a reality. Without offering specific details, he indicated that momentum is building toward a resolution and reaffirmed his belief that direct engagement is the most effective path forward.
The President also used the opportunity to express frustration over a perceived lack of recognition for his international diplomacy, stating, "I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK—the PEOPLE understand."
He concluded his post with a bold promise: "MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!"
The statement comes at a time of heightened military and political tension in the region. While the White House has not issued an official briefing on any ongoing talks, Trump’s message signals an intention to position the United States once again as the key broker in resolving one of the world's most dangerous rivalries.
