In the elections, nationalist Karol Nawrocki defeated Tusk’s supported centrist candidate Rafal Trzaskowski. The confidence vote was held as part of Tusk’s effort to change the political narrative and inject new momentum into his cabinet.
Since the coalition led by Tusk holds a strong majority in parliament, the outcome of the vote was largely expected. With this result, the prime minister reaffirmed his mandate and strengthened his political stability.
