Kazakhstan aims to boost exports to Italy by over $1 billion, focusing on high-value, non-resource goods, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the first Central Asia–Italy Summit.
At the inaugural Central Asia–Italy Summit held in Astana, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev revealed plans to expand exports to Italy by more than $1 billion, covering over 100 product categories. Emphasizing non-resource, high-value goods, Tokayev stressed the importance of deepening trade ties in the face of global tariff disputes.
He highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to launching joint ventures and diversifying its export portfolio beyond raw materials. "We see great potential in non-commodity sectors and in developing partnerships that add real economic value," Tokayev said.
The president also underlined the role of Central Asia as a key supplier of food and agricultural goods to Europe. To facilitate this growth, he proposed opening trade houses and logistics hubs—including an Italian Trade House in Almaty—as vital infrastructure to support bilateral commerce and promote Italian products in the region.
