Iran announces 19th wave of drone attacks
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched another wave of drone attacks on Israel overnight, in what it calls the 19th round of strikes targeting strategic sites across the country.
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke by phone about bilateral relations, regional stability, and global challenges.
Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia. He highlighted that a possible ceasefire, expected to be discussed in the upcoming second round of talks in Istanbul, could help pave the way for peace.
The Turkish president also pointed out the importance of leadership-level talks between Ukraine and Russia, urging that these discussions take place without delay to support the peace process.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the phone call with President Erdogan, highlighting Türkiye’s vital role in supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He said that the prisoner exchange was a key outcomeof the first Istanbul meeting, but it remains as the only one. For real progress, a ceasefire is essential to stop the ongoing killings and move toward peace.
Zelenskyy also mentioned that any upcoming talks, including the planned second meeting in Istanbul, must produce concrete and meaningful results, not just symbolic gestures. He welcomed the idea of a four-way summit involving Ukraine, Russia, Türkiye, and the United States as a potential path toward lasting peace.
