U.S. aid group is opening a new distribution center in central Gaza as the humanitarian crisis worsens.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) will open a third aid distribution point in central Gaza, south of the Netzarim Corridor.
The move follows GHF’s suspension of aid operations in Rafah due to overcrowding and unrest. Critics say requiring civilians to travel long distances for aid puts them at risk.
The Israel-backed group previously opened two distribution points in the southern city of Rafah. According to Israeli military estimates, the newly established center is aimed at serving the approximately 500,000 Palestinians residing in central Gaza.
