Trump moves to cancel $100M in federal contracts with Harvard

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has moved to terminate all remaining federal contracts with Harvard University, directing agencies to review and possibly reallocate contracts worth approximately $100 million.

This follows earlier actions, including the cancellation of nearly $3 billion in research grants and restrictions on enrolling international students, who make up 27% of Harvard’s student body.

A federal judge has temporarily blocked the decision to revoke foreign student visas, although new visa appointments remain suspended. The move has sparked protests on campus, with students criticizing the administration’s actions and expressing concern over their broader implications.

The General Services Administration cited alleged issues in admissions and hiring practices, as well as failures in ensuring student safety, as reasons for the decision. Harvard is challenging the administration in court, arguing that the actions are politically motivated and infringe on constitutional rights.
