Iraq’s oil minister, Hayan Abdel-Ghani, expressed reservations about energy contracts signed by the Kurdistan region after Kurdish Prime Minister Masrour Barzani signed two deals with U.S. firms valued at $110 billion over their lifetime. Abdel-Ghani told reporters that agreements of this scale must be approved by Iraq’s federal government.
