During a phone call Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed opportunities for peace in the Ukraine-Russia war, as well as bilateral relations and regional developments during a phone call.
President Erdoğan stated that Ankara is ready to contribute in every possible way — including by hosting peace talks — to ensure that the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia ends with a just and lasting peace. This was announced by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate on the social platform X.
The Turkish leader emphasized the importance of seizing the “window of opportunity” for peace as the war enters its fourth year. Erdoğan also stressed that efforts to achieve peace must be intensified.
