Civilians affected by drone strikes and shelling in Ukraine

Russian drone strikes and shelling have impacted multiple regions in Ukraine, causing injuries and damage to residential areas and infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 108 Shahed drones and other decoy drones across the country during the night of May 11. By morning, Ukrainian defenses had intercepted 60 drones, while 41 decoy drones were rendered ineffective.

In the Kyiv region, drone strikes caused injuries to one individual and damaged private homes in the Brovary and Obukhiv districts. In the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, seven civilians, including elderly residents, were injured during attacks that also affected homes and infrastructure.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, airstrikes targeted frontline communities, including the village of Pavlivka, where residential areas were damaged, and two civilians were injured. Shelling in the Kherson region resulted in one fatality and three injuries, with additional damage to local structures.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported over 150 incidents related to strikes on settlements and infrastructure within the past day, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by affected communities.

Meanwhile, Russian officials in the Kursk and Belgorod regions reported drone and artillery impacts, citing injuries and property damage.

The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that military operations resumed after a temporary ceasefire during Victory Day commemorations, marking a continuation of hostilities.
