A possible gas blast at a Moscow apartment building left two dead and several others hurt, as officials investigate the cause.
At least two people have died and six others remain injured — including children — following a suspected gas explosion and fire in a residential building in Moscow.
The blast destroyed several apartments and triggered a fire that trapped two people on a ninth-floor balcony, both of whom died from suffocation. Emergency services said firefighters extinguished the blaze and evacuated nearby residents.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, though local media report it may have been triggered by a gas cylinder.
