Mongolia’s Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority and the Korea Gas Safety Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on April 29, 2025, to enhance cooperation on flammable gas safety.
According to MONTSAME, the agreement sets the foundation for collaboration in key areas such as flammable gas safety, the development of relevant legal frameworks, and joint initiatives in training and research. This partnership will support the implementation of a technical assistance project focused on “Establishing a Legal Framework and Strengthening an Integrated Monitoring System for the Safety of Flammable Gas Import, Storage, Transportation, Distribution, and Usage.”
The signing of this MoU comes as Mongolia and the Republic of Korea mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Energy and extractive industries represent just one aspect of their broadening cooperation, which spans politics, economics, society, culture, education, and the humanities.
