U.S. President Donald Trump wants a lasting ceasefire to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Leavitt mentioned that Trump is growing increasingly frustrated with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, urging them to begin negotiations.
She added that although Putin had proposed a temporary ceasefire earlier in the day, Trump remains firm in demanding a permanent end to the war.
