DHL Express will suspend global shipments above $800 to U.S. consumers starting April 21, citing delays caused by new customs regulations.
DHL Express has announced it will suspend global business-to-consumer shipments worth over $800 to individuals in the United States starting April 21, due to new customs regulations that have slowed processing times.
The company said the pause affects shipments from businesses in all countries to American consumers “until further notice.” Business-to-business deliveries will continue but may also experience delays.
DHL attributed the move to recent changes in U.S. customs rules, which now require formal entry processing for all shipments valued above $800 — down from the previous threshold of $2,500, effective April 5.
Packages valued under $800 will still be delivered to U.S. consumers with minimal checks, the company added.
