Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski leads the race for Poland’s presidency with 34% support ahead of the May 18 election, a new poll shows.

Rafal Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition (KO) candidate and current Mayor of Warsaw, is leading in the latest opinion polls ahead of Poland’s May 18 presidential election, with 34% support, according to a Pollster survey published in the Super Express daily on Thursday.

Trailing behind is Karol Nawrocki, backed by the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, with 24%, followed by Slawomir Mentzen of the far-right Confederation party, who holds 16%.

These three candidates are considered the main contenders, while others — including Parliament Speaker Szymon Holownia of the centrist Third Way, and leftist candidates Adrian Zandberg and Magdalena Biejat, as well as far-right figure Grzegorz Braun — are polling in the single digits.

If no candidate secures over 50% of the vote in the first round, a runoff between the top two candidates will take place on June 1.

The following is a summary of the most recent poll results (figures in percent):
