Türkiye’s automotive production declined by 8.7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, with a total of 344,120 units produced, according to the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD).
Automobile production also saw a decrease of 7.3%, reaching 220,927 units during the same period. The total vehicle market in Türkiye contracted by 7%, with 285,818 units sold in the first quarter, while the automobile market dropped by 4.1% to 223,793 units.
Automotive exports decreased by 0.9% in terms of quantity, and imports also fell by 3.8%. In total, automotive exports amounted to 254,683 units, while imports stood at 196,687 units.
On a value basis, however, Türkiye’s automotive sector showed some positive growth. Total automotive exports increased by 1.9%, reaching $9.38 billion, while automobile exports grew by 11.6%, totaling $2.75 billion in the first quarter of 2025.
