Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will represent Türkiye at a high-level conference on Ukraine in London on March 2, according to an official statement.
Hosted by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the meeting will convene top officials from European nations, NATO, and the European Union to discuss the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war and European security.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan asserted on Thursday that Turkey must not be excluded from any future European defense strategy.
'A security architecture that disregards a military power like Turkey would not be very realistic,' Fidan stated during a joint news conference with his Albanian counterpart in Ankara.
'If a European security framework is to become operational, it cannot be achieved without Turkey,' he added, noting that the Trump administration's stance on the war in Ukraine is almost entirely opposed to that of its predecessor."
