A Ukrainian official on Feb. 13 denied that Kyiv will take part in joint talks with U.S. and Russian representatives at the Munich Security Conference, contradicting remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Dmytro Lytvyn, an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Ukraine has no scheduled talks with Russia in Munich and will only engage in discussions after coordination with the U.S. and European partners.
Trump earlier claimed that Ukraine was invited to a Feb. 14 meeting in Munich, alongside U.S. and Russian officials. However, no details were provided on the agenda or participants. Trump later reiterated the claim, despite Kyiv’s denial.
Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Zelensky are expected to meet during the Munich conference, which runs Feb. 14-16, while Russia prepares a delegation for future talks.
