Tehran’s proposal links the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to the lifting of the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports, while Qatar continues to mediate between the two sides.

U.S. withdrawal from Iraq triggers regional security fears

The U.S. has completed the withdrawal of its remaining forces from Iraq, ending a military presence that began with the 2003 invasion. Residents of Basra in Iraq, took to the streets in convoys to celebrate the withdrawal. Flydubai flight attack under investigation as Israel weighs role

Israeli authorities have said they may participate in the investigation into an incident aboard a flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv after the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain and the aircraft entered a steep descent. Passengers and crew overpowered him, and the plane landed safely in Saudi Arabia. Another aircraft was sent to Saudi Arabia to bring back the passengers who have now arrived at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport.
