1. Apple debuts $1,999 foldable iPhone

Apple has entered the foldable smartphone market with the passport-shaped iPhone Duo, featuring a 7.6-inch display, A20 Pro chip and a starting price of $1,999. 4. Anthropic researcher warns AI 'could kill all humans'

Anthropic safety researcher Evan Hubinger has warned that rapidly advancing AI systems could carry a more than 10% chance of causing catastrophic harm to humanity within the next decade. Hubinger in a post on X said the risk from the models which currently exist was “low” but he was “worried” the technology might develop and improve itself soon to the point where it posed an existential risk to humanity.

5. OpenAI says AI solved 90-year-old maths problem in 88 hours

OpenAI says a new AI model, working with around 10,000 autonomous AI agents, found a solution to a long-standing challenge linked to the Navier–Stokes equations in just 88 hours. The result has not yet been independently verified, but the company called it a milestone in the progress of AI-powered research.
