Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Washington next week for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict.
Netanyahu’s office said the Israeli leader will travel to the United States on Monday and meet Trump on Tuesday. He is also expected to attend the funeral of former U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
Trump announced the visit during remarks at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Friday, saying Netanyahu would be “coming to town next week”.
The meeting comes as Washington and Tehran remain locked in a widening confrontation, with the U.S. carrying out a 13th consecutive night of strikes on Iranian targets.
The United States said its latest strikes targeted Iranian military infrastructure, including command centres, drone storage facilities, communications networks and maritime capabilities.
Iran has responded with attacks on U.S.-linked positions in the region, while warning that further strikes on its territory could trigger wider retaliation.
The conflict has also raised concerns over energy security and global trade, with tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea affecting shipping routes and pushing oil prices higher.
The Trump-Netanyahu meeting comes nearly five months into the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, with both sides facing pressure over the future course of the conflict.
It will mark the 7th time Netanyahu has visited the White House since Trump returned for the second time in 2025.
Trump also said Washington is considering further military action while leaving open the possibility of a diplomatic agreement with Tehran.
Netanyahu and Trump are expected to discuss regional security, Iran’s nuclear programme and the wider consequences of the escalating crisis.
