Ukraine strikes Russian Lukoil platforms in Caspian Sea

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) carried out a strike on Russian Lukoil drilling platforms in the Caspian Sea during the night of 10–11 January, according to the SOF press service.

The attack targeted three ice-resistant fixed platforms named V. Filanovsky, Yuriy Korchagin and Valeriy Grayfer, which are used to supply fuel to the Russian military.

A spokesperson for the SOF said: “Special Operations Forces continue to carry out asymmetric actions to strategically exhaust the enemy’s ability to wage war against Ukraine.”

Earlier reports from Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed the destruction of Russian targets in the Caspian Sea, highlighting ongoing military operations in the region.
