At least eight people were killed and several others injured in a car explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi on Monday. The explosion occurred near one of the gates of the Red Fort metro station, a busy area adjacent to the historic fort, triggering a large fire that damaged multiple parked vehicles.
New Delhi police and fire services quickly responded to the scene, with fire engines arriving shortly after the blast. The cause of the explosion is still unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the source of the blast.
Sanjay Tyagi, a spokesman for the city's police force, confirmed the death toll, saying: "At least 8 people were killed, and several others were injured. We are investigating the cause of the blast." Local media reports showed images of damaged vehicles and a police cordon around the area as investigators worked to gather evidence.

Eyewitness Account
