Magnitude 5.8 earthquake strikes southeast coast of Russia's Kamchatka

An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck the south-east coast of Russia's Kamchatka region on Monday (3 November), the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake was at a depth of 24 km (14.91 miles), USGS said.

GFZ had earlier pegged the earthquake at 6.4 magnitude.

According to the latest figures from earth quake track Russia has had six 1.5 magnitude earthquakes in the past 24 hours, 20 earthquakes in the past 7 days, and 80 earthquakes in the past 30 days.
