Hamas Delays Handover of Hostage Remains Over Israeli Ceasefire Violations

The Palestinian group Hamas has announced on Tuesday that the planned transfer of an Israeli captive’s body will be postponed due to Israel’s breaches of the ceasefire agreement.

The armed wing of Hamas, the Qassam Brigades, warned that “any Israeli escalation will impede search and excavation operations and delay the return of the occupiers’ dead.”

The handover had been scheduled for 8:00 pm local time (1800 GMT) under the terms of the ceasefire, which came into effect on 10 October.
