Google has joined forces with the World Bank Group to develop artificial intelligence-based public digital infrastructure aimed at supporting developing markets.

The initiative brings together Google Cloud’s AI tools, including its Gemini models, with the World Bank’s experience in development policy to help governments build interoperable digital systems in areas such as agriculture, healthcare, and skills training.

According to Google, the goal is to make essential online services easier to access. “Citizens will be able to use these AI-powered tools in more than forty languages, even on basic mobile devices,” the company said.

The partnership follows a pilot project in India’s Uttar Pradesh state, where digital platforms helped small farmers increase their income.

To support the wider effort, Google.org is funding a new non-profit group, Networks for Humanity (NFH), to promote open and inclusive digital ecosystems. NFH will develop shared digital frameworks, create regional innovation hubs, and test social impact projects in different parts of the world.
