On Tuesday, China successfully launched the Tianping-3 satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province.
The satellite was lifted into space by a Long March-6 carrier rocket at 08:10 (Beijing Time) and has reached its designated orbit.
Tianping-3 will primarily be utilized for calibrating ground radar equipment and measuring radar cross sections (RCS). It is expected to support imaging experiments with ground optical equipment, conduct low-orbit space environment detection and monitoring experiments, and provide services for measuring atmospheric space conditions and correcting orbit prediction models.
This launch represents the 541st flight in the Long March carrier rocket series.
