Canada will provide C$60 million ($43.35 million) to support stability in Haiti, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
The funding includes C$40 million for the multinational security support mission in Haiti and C$20 million for a regional maritime security initiative, aimed at strengthening the capacity to tackle the growing threat of transnational organised crime in Haiti and the Caribbean, according to a statement from the Canadian foreign ministry.
