Authorities in the State of Mexico confirmed the deaths of two Colombian musicians whose bodies were discovered in a vacant lot in Tlalnepantla, near Mexico City.

Sanchez Salazar, also known as B-King, and DJ Herrera, known as Regio Clown, had been reported missing on 16 September after visiting a gym in the Polanco neighbourhood. Relatives later identified the bodies found on 17 September.

Officials said the victims showed signs of violence, and a homicide investigation has been launched.

The case drew international attention when Colombian President Gustavo Petro called on Mexican authorities to help locate the missing nationals. He linked the deaths to broader issues of regional violence and security challenges in Latin America.

Petro emphasised the impact of drug-related criminal activity and criticised ineffective policies addressing violence, describing the situation as a consequence of failed regional security measures.
