Russia said on Wednesday that attempts to tackle security issues around Ukraine without Moscow’s involvement amounted to a “road to nowhere.”
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made the remarks two days after U.S. President Donald Trump hosted Ukraine’s president and European leaders for talks on potential security guarantees to help end the conflict.
“We cannot accept that questions of security, of collective security, are being addressed without the Russian Federation. It will not work,” Lavrov said, adding that the West, and particularly the United States, “surely know that any serious discussion of security without Russia is a utopia – a road to nowhere.”
U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the U.S is in talks with the new Iranian regime. He said this in a post on his Truth Social account but warned that the U.S. will "Obliterate" Iran's electric and oil facilities if no deal is reached, especially regarding the Strait of Hormuz closure.
