Two men were stabbed to death and another seriously injured in a violent attack near London’s Tower Bridge on Monday, prompting a murder investigation, British police said.
A 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 27-year-old man later died in hospital. A third victim, believed to be in his 30s, remains hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police added that another man in his 30s has been detained in connection with the incident, but he is currently in a life-threatening condition in the hospital.
“Our investigation is in the early stages and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances of this shocking incident,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond.
“At this point, we do not believe it to be terrorism-related and there is no further risk to the public.”
