Bitcoin breaks new records — price surpasses $123,000

Bitcoin hit a new all-time high on Monday morning, surpassing the $123,000 mark and gaining over 4% during the day.

The cryptocurrency has been on a five-day rally, reaching multiple record highs last week. As of 09:25 GMT, Bitcoin’s price stands at approximately $122,200, reflecting a 4.2% increase compared to the previous day.

According to data from market analyst Coinmarketcap, the total value of the global cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, rose by 3.5% in the past 24 hours, reaching $3.8 trillion.

Since the start of the year, Bitcoin’s price has increased by nearly 27%, keeping it firmly in the spotlight among investors.

Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation, also saw a rise of 2.7%, reaching a value of $3,045.
