Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone call with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Sunday to discuss global peace and security, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.
Dar, who also serves as deputy prime minister, reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for resolving disputes through peaceful means and highlighted the country’s commitment to multilateral cooperation.
Pakistan currently holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for July. Dar briefed Guterres on key events planned under Pakistan’s leadership during the month.
The two officials are expected to meet in person next week in New York during activities linked to Pakistan’s presidency.
Dar also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the UN and its personnel in carrying out their mandate effectively
