Two student pilots killed in mid-air collision during flight training in Canada

Two student pilots were killed when two single-engine training aircraft collided mid-air in southern Manitoba, Canadian authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said the crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. local time in the Hanover region. No other passengers were on board either aircraft.

Adam Penner, head of the flight school involved, said the crash happened during a training exercise.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
