The Leninsky District Court of Russia's Yekaterinburg has issued a decision to remand Azerbaijani citizen Aziz Abasov into custody, according to the court's press service.

The measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen until 19 July, 2025.

2. Seven people missing from massive explosion at California fireworks facility

Seven people are missing after a fire and powerful explosion levelled a commercial fireworks facility in rural northern California, authorities said on Wednesday.

Aerial footage from local news media showed the large warehouse-like building blown to pieces Tuesday evening in what's being described as an enormous, thundering fireball that rocked a wide area around the Yolo County community of Esparto, about 64 km (40 miles) west of Sacramento, the state capital.

3. Four dead, 30 missing after ferry sinks near Indonesia's Bali, agency said

Four people have died, 30 are missing and 31 survived after a ferry carrying 65 people sank near the Indonesian island of Bali, the country's Search and Rescue agency said on Thursday, as rescuers raced to find victims in the rough sea.

The KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya sank almost half an hour after leaving East Java province's Banyuwangi port on its way to Bali late on Wednesday, the agency said on Thursday.

4. Argentina cuts industrial gas supply amid record cold snap

Argentina will limit the supply of natural gas for industrial use as residents braving a recent cold snap are using more energy to heat their homes, the South American nation's energy secretariat said on Wednesday.

The coldest weather in 30 years has created record demand, with the National Gas Regulatory Entity (Enargas) expecting Wednesday's usage to be 25% higher than the same day last year.

5. Trump to host five African leaders next week to discuss 'commercial opportunities'

U.S. President Donald Trump will host leaders from five African nations in Washington next week to discuss "commercial opportunities," a White House official said on Wednesday.

Trump will host leaders from Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania and Senegal for a discussion and lunch at The White House on 9 July, the official said.
