A motion of no confidence against European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is set to be debated on 7 July and voted on 10 July during the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg, according to Romanian MEP Gheorghe Piperea, who submitted the motion.
Piperea believes the vote is likely to fail but says it sends a powerful symbolic message within the European Union.
The motion received 79 supporting signatures and was approved by the Conference of Presidents.
