After 12 days of fast-paced action, the group stage of the 2025 IIHF World Championship is over. Canada and Switzerland claimed first place in their groups, while Austria stunned with a playoff spot for the first time since 1994.
Austria's dominant 6–1 win over Latvia clinched their dream run, with standout performances from Vinzenz Rohrer, Marco Kasper, and Dominic Zwerger. In Group B, Switzerland came from behind to beat Kazakhstan 4–1, led by Kevin Fiala and Denis Malgin.
