UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin officially opened UEFA’s new office in Istanbul on Thursday, calling it a strategic step to ensure smooth planning and execution of upcoming major football tournaments. The office will coordinate key events including the UEFA Europa League final in 2026, the UEFA Conference League final in 2027, and EURO 2032, which Türkiye will co-host with Italy.
Ceferin praised Türkiye’s proven ability to organize major football events, referencing past successes like the 2005 and 2023 UEFA Champions League finals and the 2019 UEFA Super Cup. He said the Istanbul office would strengthen UEFA’s local presence and help deliver world-class tournaments.
Expressing confidence in cooperation with Turkish authorities, Ceferin thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish Football Federation for their support and said he looks forward to unforgettable tournaments. He even envisioned a EURO 2032 final between Türkiye and Italy.
