China has significantly relaxed its entry restrictions, with establishing unilateral visa-free access and mutual visa exemption arrangements with 75 countries as part of its efforts to streamline visa processes and encourage global engagement.

Additionally, China has extended the allowable stay under its visa-free transit policy to 240 hours, making it easier for foreign visitors to enter the country for tourism, business, and other purposes.

From 2021 to 2025, the number of countries eligible for visa-free transit increased to 55, while the number of designated entry points expanded to 60, spanning 24 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, said Wang Zhizhong, vice minister of public security and head of the National Immigration Administration (NIA).

He added that these optimized visa-free policies have also strengthened exchanges and interactions between Chinese and people around the world.

"Many foreign visitors have gained a true and full understanding of China through their firsthand experiences," Wang said.
