Historic border agreements in 2025 brought renewed hopes of stability to the Fergana Valley, easing long-running tensions between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
With signing the Agreement on State Border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, eternal peace has been brought to the Central Asian region, said President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov following the signing of the landmark agreement on the state border.
Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have reached a historic border agreement, potentially ending a century-long dispute. The deal, hailed as a breakthrough, covers delimitation, water, and infrastructure issues. If finalized, it could ease tensions and support political, economic, and social cooperation.
Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are close to finalizing their border agreement, with only technical issues remaining. The deal aims to resolve long-standing disputes over roads, water resources, and territorial claims.
