Azerbaijan’s top general observed major drills in Türkiye and met senior Turkish defence leaders, underscoring the allies’ growing military partnership.
During his visit to Türkiye, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defence and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, observed the international military drill 'Defender of Peace – 2025' held in Istanbul.
Following this, Colonel-General Valiyev travelled to Konya to take part in the High-Level Observer Day of the 'Anatolian Eagle – 2025' international exercise.
Attendees were briefed in detail on the exercise’s planning, scenario, objectives, and execution phases.
The sides discussed the current status and potential expansion of cooperation in military, military-technical, military-educational, and other areas, exchanging views on a range of topics of mutual interest.
