Azerbaijan is facilitating the evacuation of foreign nationals from Iran, a process that has included private citizens and diplomatic staff. The assistance has involved providing transit for Kyrgyz citizens and, subsequently, the staff and families of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Tehran.

Based on a public commitment to a humanitarian approach, the Azerbaijani government has opened its borders, primarily through the Astara checkpoint, to provide a secure transit route for those seeking to leave Iran. This policy was met with gratitude from the international community, particularly from the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following the successful evacuation of its citizens, a Kyrgyz diplomat, Nazim Beishekeev, praised the flawless execution and warm reception his people received. He confirmed that after seeing Azerbaijan's offer of assistance, his embassy submitted a request and that "everything went very well." He extended profound thanks for the "hospitality, your warmth, your kind reception, and for your assistance," noting all citizens were brought to safety.

This role was significantly elevated when Azerbaijan facilitated the evacuation of the entire staff of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Tehran. In this critical operation, a group of 28 individuals, comprised of diplomats and their family members, was successfully moved across the border onto Azerbaijani territory.

The evacuation of an entire diplomatic mission underscores the depth of trust in Azerbaijan's capacity to provide security and logistical support. These actions solidify Azerbaijan's position as a reliable and essential partner for ensuring stability and providing critical humanitarian aid in the region.
