Azerbaijan will not permit any country to use its territory to strike a third party, including Iran, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov tells his Iranian counterpart Seyyed Abbas Araghchi in a phone call on Saturday.
Bayramov expresses concern over rising regional tensions, particularly around nuclear sites, and stresses that all disputes must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy in line with international law, according to a statement from Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
With Iran’s airspace closed, the ministry notes that arrangements have been made for diplomatic transit through Azerbaijan’s land border.
