Within the framework of the international event on energy efficiency held in Brussels, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, met with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatih Birol.
During the meeting, Fatih Birol emphasized that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in ensuring Europe's energy security and highlighted the importance of further developing cooperation in this area.
The sides noted the effective collaboration between Azerbaijan and the IEA in promoting COP29 initiatives. They discussed the implementation status of energy initiatives, the monitoring of progress, and the reflection of these developments in the agency’s reports, as well as future directions for cooperation.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on current trends and forecasts in the global energy market.
